How to Handle Self-Doubt
Self-doubt can hinder us from ever starting. It can hinder us from thinking we are capable and good enough.
During these times, it can be hard to see us being successful at the task ahead.
And that’s when we need to understand, it isn’t by our strength that we will prevail, it’s the Lord’s.
As we dig into today’s newsletter, I hope that you can see how the Lord can help you deal with the self-doubt you may have and how he wants to use you to do amazing things.
TL;DR
God's Provision of Gifts and Talents: Recognize that your unique talents are God-given. Use them confidently to help others and make a difference.
Trust in God's Strength: Philippians 4:13 reminds us that God gives us strength to tackle any challenge.
Overcoming Self-Doubt: Even great leaders like Moses had self-doubt. Trust that God knows your strengths and will guide you.
Confidence in God's Plan: Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in God's plan and not rely solely on our own understanding. With His guidance, your path will be clear.
The Big Idea: How to Handle Self-Doubt

God's Provision of Gifts and Talents:
In a world where everyone compares themselves to each other as a measure of their own success, we at times can feel less than enough.
During these times, we need to realize the Lord has blessed us all with different talents and gifts to fulfill his will.
As Romans 12:6-8 tells us, God has given each of us unique gifts to use for helping others and making a difference.
Whether you’re great at leading, teaching, serving, encouraging, or being kind, these talents are a gift from God.
So, instead of doubting yourself, remember that your abilities come from Him.
Use them confidently and with joy! Lead with passion, give generously, and show kindness cheerfully.
By trusting in your God-given talents, you can overcome self-doubt and achieve amazing things.
Trusting in God's Strength:
Whenever you doubt yourself, remember that God is your source of strength.
Philippians 4:13 is here to remind us: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
You don’t have to rely only on your own power.
Be reminded that God’s got your back, giving you the strength you need to tackle any challenge.
So, when self-doubt creeps in, trust in God's power.
Believe that with His help, you can achieve anything.
Embrace His strength and watch how you can overcome obstacles and succeed in your journey
Overcoming Self-Doubt:
Even Moses had self doubt.
We see this in Exodus 4:10-12.
He told God, "I am slow of speech and tongue." But God replied, "Who gave human beings their mouths? ... Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
Just like Moses, we all have moments of self-doubt.
But remember, God is with us, ready to help and guide us.
He created us and knows our strengths and weaknesses.
When you’re feeling unsure, trust that God will give you the words, wisdom, and confidence you need.
With His support, you can overcome any challenge and achieve great things.
Don’t let self-doubt hold you back—God’s got you covered!
Confidence in God's Plan:
When self-doubt creeps in, remember to trust in God's plan for you.
Instead of relying only on your own understanding, submit your worries and plans to Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us a reassuring promise:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
God sees the bigger picture and knows what’s best for you.
By putting your trust in Him, you’ll find the confidence to move forward, knowing that He is guiding your steps.
Let go of your doubts and trust that God is leading you towards a bright future.
With Him, your path will be made clear and straight.
Reflections and Actions
Trusting God's Plan: How can I deepen my trust in God's plan for my life, especially during times of uncertainty?
Letting Go: What specific worries and plans do I need to submit to God to experience His guidance?
Daily Trust: How can I make trusting in God a part of my daily routine
Witnessing Guidance: When have I seen God's guidance clearly in my life, and how can these experiences reinforce my trust in Him?
Action Step: Start each day with a prayer of surrender, asking God to guide your steps and help you trust in His plan. Reflect on Proverbs 3:5-6 and trust that He will make your path straight.
Nuggets of Wisdom:
Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Exodus 4:10-12: Moses said to the Lord, "Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." The Lord said to him, "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
Romans 12:6-8: "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully."
Philippians 4:13: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."
Christian Brand of the Week: TOM’s Shoes

Founded by Blake Mycoskie in 2006, Tom's Shoes has not only revolutionized the footwear industry but has also embodied the Christian principle of serving others through their innovative "One for One" business model.
The "One for One" Model: Glorifying the Lord through Service
TOM's Shoes has a simple but powerful idea: for every pair of shoes they sell, they give a new pair to a child in need.
This idea matches perfectly with Christian teachings about helping others.
By giving shoes to kids who need them, TOM's Shoes follows the Bible's command to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31).
They have given away millions of pairs of shoes, helping many children around the world.
Giving these shoes not only meets a basic need but also gives kids dignity and hope.
By doing this, TOM's Shoes honors God by acting out the Gospel through real acts of love.
Purpose-Driven Brand Identity
They have a clear purpose that connects deeply with people who want to make a positive impact when they buy things.
By having a higher purpose, TOM's Shoes attracts loyal customers who care about compassion and social responsibility.
Sustainable and Ethical Practices
They make sure their workers are treated well and use materials that are good for the planet.
This shows they respect God's creation and the dignity of all workers.
Innovative Marketing Strategies
They highlight their mission and impact by telling powerful stories about the kids and communities they help.
These stories make customers feel connected to the cause, encouraging them to buy again and tell their friends.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
They support social issues and encourage their customers to join in making a difference.
This not only increases their impact but also creates a sense of community and shared purpose among their customers.
Key Takeaways:
Do it With a Purpose: Generating the most revenue as a goal will not have the same impact as a purposeful one that serves others. Focus on how your business can serve others first.
Change the Game: By implementing the “One for One” model, TOM’s shoes changed the game. How can you disrupt your industry in a way that will create loyal customers for your business?
Connect Them to the Cause: It’s one thing to give back and serve others. But how can you show the impact your customers are having when they purchase from you or work with you? Sharing the results will allow them to see it for themselves.
